Four engagements. The right one depends on what is in front of you, not on which one is largest.
This page concerns
All six disciplines
If more than one applies, start with the conversation
When the pattern is systemic. The complete governing system installed over ninety days, built on your board’s own authority questions, live decisions and actual materials.
When new directors are seated. Directors learn the real work of the board through your board’s own decisions and authority map, so they contribute in their first consequential meeting.
When one consequential decision is approaching. One matter prepared and facilitated properly, with ownership and monitoring attached before the board leaves the room.
When the two offices keep ending up at odds. A written, tested operating agreement between the two offices at the center of the board, so authority is settled before it is tested.

Twenty-four statements about how your board actually works. You get a score for each of the six disciplines and a plain read of where confidence is leaking. Nobody calls you.
Before you write
Worth reading, because it is shorter and less commercial than most people expect.
Forty-five minutes with a Boardpath advisor, by video or telephone.
You describe the situation. Boardpath asks about the decisions behind it, because that is usually where the difficulty is being produced.
No proposal in the first meeting. If there is a fit, that comes afterward and in writing.
If the smallest useful next step is something your board can do without Boardpath, that is what you will hear.
Board matters are treated in confidence and are not shared outside Boardpath.
Request a conversation
Bring the matter in front of your board, why it matters now, and who is involved. That is enough to have a useful first conversation.
